The fickleness of public opinion

By Letter to the Editor on October 14, 2020.

This week in the media…Public demands more tools for rapid testing for COVID. Though the science has not proven these rapid tests completely reliable, the public believes they are useful tools in helping to gauge the health of our communities.

While in Alberta…Public demands Achievement Testing in schools cease. Why? Because there may be some flaws. Is it no longer necessary to employ multiple tools to gauge the intellectual health of our schools?

If the public believes increased COVID testing shows a truer picture of COVID infections, what might increased Achievement Testing likely show about the intellectual health in our schools?
