Masks show we care about others

By Letter to the Editor on July 18, 2020.

Masks or no masks? This is a question going through many people’s mind.

Should we be bothered to take the inconvenience of putting on a mask, especially when the number of  infected people are  low in our region?

I admit that I once went to the store without a mask on. That day, I saw a few people wearing masks, and admired them for doing the right thing, for their attempt to stop the spread of virus.

After that day, I followed their example.

None of us want to go back to a strict social distancing, or be afraid of going out for essential shopping.

All of us want our children to be back in school and our economy running once again.

As a community, we have done well through this difficult time. If we take a few more precautions, we could avoid a  transmission link that leads to an outbreak.

Simply wearing a mask in a public place helps.

There are a few people who are unable to wear masks due to genuine health reasons. Hold back judgement, and instead let us inspire each other by showing care for others.

Masks show that we care.
