Let college deal with doctor complaints, not health minister

By Letter to the Editor on April 1, 2020.

Tyler Shandro is unfit to be Alberta’s Minister of Health. He does not know the fundamental principles of our system and how our system works.

If he has a complaint about a doctor, then file it with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, an organization which oversees the conduct and performance of the medical profession. It is more appropriate than standing on the street and hollering at the doctor.

Universality and accessibility are the main principles of our system. The need for a card to be served is a decision by the politicians and bureaucrats; therefore, their organization should manage this task.

Doctors provide the required services; they should be remunerated reasonably and promptly, and they should not be penalized for the government’s failure to do its job properly.

Any doctor that spends his time making derogatory memes of others has serious issues. I applaud Shandro for confronting that joke of a doctor.

Tyler Shandro is the joke here, like anyone in power, a thick skin is required. By lashing out he showed he is immature and unfit for the position.

I think what these Reformers are doing is going to cost us another huge shortage of doctors and nurses like Klein did. I helped nine doctors and at least two dozen nurses relocate out of this province, when Klein did it, not one wanted to go. As one doctor pointed out “Apparent;y the Klein Government isn’t smart enough to understand that we can work anywhere we want to our services are in such high demand. Of course it was a deliberate attack to try to force Albertans into accepting a privatized health care system, and Klein’s own supporters forced him into early retirement because of it.

These guys like Impala could find their lives put at risk but isn’t smart enough to understand it. He’s forgotten all the lawsuits launched against Klein for deaths attributed to his health care cuts.

The serious issue is with Shandro and his wife who just happens to own a private for profit health care insurance company. Is Impala prepared to start paying $600. – $900. per month for his monthly health care costs, like my American relatives are?

While he pretends what a great conservative he is he supports this well know Liberal, turned Reformer, like Klein was, and he doesn’t care. Anyone who attaches the word conservative to their name is good enough for him.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot and showing the world how ignorant you are, he’s the best I have ever seen. He gives us true conservatives a good laugh.

I can’t wait to hear Impala make a bigger fool of himself defending Shandro. . Apparently after apologizing for his first round of stupidity Shandro has attacked another one of our doctors in Red Deer. He doesn’t like the fact that he can’t kick them around like he wants to without some of them fighting back, even some of the UCP supporters are wanting him fired, can you blame them?

Where’s the intelligence in cutting taxes for your rich friends then telling doctors, nurses, and teachers that you have to destroy their careers by cutting their wages and jobs like these reformers are doing? Of course the stupid seniors supporting these Reformers don’t care what they do to these much needed professionals because it doesn’t effect them directly. Ignorant of the fact that it could cost some of them their lives like it did when Klein did it.

Impala is naive about the ways of the world. Shandro attracts criticism because he defends corporate capitalism which tries to destroy our social structures.

Well said . You can’t be much dumber than Impala, can you? It’s because of fools like him that we are in this mess we are in today. While we desperately tried to put a stop to what Ralph Klein was doing to us these fools like him wouldn’t let us. Even Klein’s father Phil and daughter Angie were trying to help us.
