Bad feeling about what’s to come for some Albertans

I think that life is going to get brutish and short for some people living in Alberta. I already see more signs of homelessness then ever before. The move to defund supervised consumption sites such as the one in Lethbridge, because people who overdose will just overdose again is flawed thinking. Canada has a universal health system and we don’t do a survey to see who deserves treatment. We don’t deny treatment to someone who isn’t following their treatment plan if they have trouble with their heart or have cancer. People will say that drugs are illegal or it’s their own fault. I don’t know why they are on drugs and personally don’t care. It is an easy thing these days to become addicted to anything. I am not going to judge anyone not even people who want to close down the SCSs. I do know that everyone in Alberta should have universal health care and SCSs are part of the continuum of care that have proven effective. Personally I do not care when or if someone gives up something they are addicted to, that is their personal choice. A person should be treated with respect and dignity always. That means full rights in their community part of which is universal health care. Diane MacNaughton Medicine Hat 7-6
Wait until you see what he does to the jobs in the province . He has to cut thousands, like Klein did. . While he gives away billions in royalties, he has frozen them for ten years to benefit the rich oil executives, and screw the people out of their wealth and is of course increasing their tax breaks , while your property taxes will skyrocket, they have to. Don’t forget he’s taking the controls off the power industry so they can make their executives a lot richer at your expense also. Just wait until you see what it does to your grocery bills.
Too bad all these ignorant Albertans weren’t smart enough to listen to those of us who aren’t dumb enough to elect Reformers pretending to be conservatives. You had better have deep pockets because you’re going to need it. As I have said many times before Kenney isn’t anything like the Lougheed and Getty conservatives we proudly supported, too bad you aren’t smart enough to see it.
Notley was on the right track , but you believed the lies Kenney fed you and now you’re going to pay for it. Sadly you’ve taken all of us with you.
