Congratulations to all those who ran, best wishes to the populace

By Letter to the Editor on May 1, 2019.

Congratulations to all candidates for Brooks-Medicine Hat and Cypress-Medicine Hat for your valiant efforts these past few months. Congratulations also to the recently re-elected Barnes and the elected Glasgo. Here’s hoping you both go on to do a stand-up job in your provincial roles.

To all the front line workers, teachers and unionists, best wishes in the immediate future. To all individuals that aren’t European Canadians or cisgender, be strong and know that there’s still support for you to be who you are or who you identify as. Lastly, may our elected municipal officials continue to support all its citizens in a respectful, equitable manner.

Yay! One final swipe at conservatives by the bitter and shrivelled left!

@Wo Fat Such good conservatives they vote for anyone who attaches the word conservative to their name and don’t give a damn that the guy is a well known Liberal, turned Reformer, never has been a true conservative, in Jason Kenney and /or Ralph Klein. As a guy said in Edmonton yesterday they would vote for a potted plant if you said it was a conservative. Don’t worry he will make certain that you get to pay for your stupidity like Klein made you do, while you watch Norway and Alaska build up huge savings accounts for their children’s future. Don’t forget you still have the Orphan Well debt that Klein dumped in our laps to pay for. .

As a person with a disability and will be a senior before the next election, these are scary times.
I was at a walk-in clinic just before the election and I could not believe the number of seniors in there talking about supporting the PC again. (That’s not a typo).
I sat there and tried to tell them that there is no PC party anymore and their eyes glazed over. Some of them said how they supported the PC all their lives and they will continue to do so. I tried to say that times change, politics change, political parties change and believe it or not people’s needs change. And then I shut up and thought, these uninformed supporters have better hope there’s still a walk-in they can go to in three years. Or maybe they should think about the hospital they were hoping their grandchildren could go to doesn’t get blown up…

Les has nailed it. These are Reformers and are nothing like the conservatives we supported under Lougheed and Getty. Us seniors are going to be in serious trouble and Kenney won’t care.

I have been in hospital five times, for a week at a time, in the past 21 months and it never cost me a dime, and I can just imagine what it would have cost me under Kenney.

How many hospitals will he sell off at a fraction of their value like Klein did?
