Albertans apparently voted for trouble under Jason Kenney

By Letter to the Editor on April 25, 2019.

A senior in our circle of friends nailed it. A day after we all helped Notley get elected in 2015, he said she will never get re-elected in 2019. There is no way she will be able to fix the mess the Klein, Stelmach and Redford governments created for us over a 25-year period in only four years and that’s what Albertans will expect. The oil industry will not have recovered by that time and she will get accused of not creating jobs, even though it was the oil industry crash of 2008 that created the mess they are in.

So now while Jason Kenney continues to give away our oil wealth and increases tax breaks for his rich friends Albertans can watch Alaska and Norway reap the benefits of their oil wealth while he forces us into a privatized health care and likely education system.

How many of my fellow seniors are going to find themselves needing a bed in a nursing home for themselves, or a loved one at a cost of ten of thousands per month, as our family found out, thanks to what Klein had done.

Notley was getting set to build 2,800 new public beds to help seniors avoid having to accept the private -for-profit ones and now you have told Kenney you don’t want them.

My senior friends and I know a lot of seniors are going to find themselves in a lot of trouble under Kenney, but apparently that’s what you wanted.
