A double standard about justice system, prisoner transfers

By Letter to the Editor on October 9, 2018.

There is something amiss with the Terri-Lynne McClintic story ad the outrage about her being in a healing lodge.

There was no outcry when a white male was moved to Edmonton to avoid a “toxic” climate in Calgary after killing five people. There was a front page outcry when an Indigenous female was moved to Maple Creek for appropriate treatment after killing one child.

With all due respect Glen Motz is not a psychologist. The death of any child is grievous and the goal of our justice system, I hope, is the rehabilitation of the offender.

Let us face our own biases and give every human being a fair chance to heal and thrive.
