Council’s blue bin decision called ‘reprehensible’

I just found out, through Environmental Utilities Medicine Hat, that city council mandated that each home currently in possession of a residential waste cart has to have a recycling bin. And, that whether we use it or not, we will still be charged monthly. I think that is reprehensible! We pay our taxes, our utilities, and now the city wants another $100,000-plus from its residents yearly! For what? Since we’ve been recycling without benefit of a bin, I’ll have to come up with an imaginative way to use my new blue “white elephant.” Shannon Hausauer Medicine Hat 5-4
