Invitation extended, and complimentary coffee

Re: “Comments not rational, civilized or reasonable,” Jan. 18

Thank you, Mr. Condon, for your letter. You have many questions, all of which I would very much like to answer, hopefully to your satisfaction. Unfortunately the comments column only has so many lines of print and I feel we could better converse if we meet personally.

Please accept this as a rational, civilized and reasonable invitation for coffee, my treat. I am free to discuss topics of mutual interest anytime I am not working or sleeping.

I would like to extend this invitation also to Mr. Peter Mueller or anyone else with the courage of conviction to make written comment on Mueller’s original column of Dec. 2, “Poisonous partisanship at the ballot box.”

The editor of this page has my phone number and my permission to give it to you or any other person involved in this most interesting, valuable and enjoyable dialogue.

Would you not agree free communication between free people face to face is the cornerstone of any democracy?
