Collector’s Corner: Thank you to all who helped make this the best Coin and Stamp Club Spring Show yet

T he Medicine Hat Coin and Stamp Club recently held its Spring Show in the Grandstand Room at the Medicine Hat Stampede grounds.

I believe this show may have been the most successful the club has ever hosted. Attendance was up substantially and public interest and participation were fabulous.

All tables were sold and the show had vendors from as far away as Fort McMurray and Edmonton. Every vendor that I spoke with was very happy and indicated their desire to return.

One of the many features of our show is the Charity Table. This table features items donated by members of the general public, vendors at the show and club members as well. It runs the full gamut of collectables and supplies, from albums and reference books to coins and stamps to – you name it.

Nothing is priced and is open to what you feel is a suitable donation. All proceeds go to local charities at the end of the year. This year’s proceeds blew the doors off prior years. A big thank-you to all who patronized the table.

If you have any old stamp and coin collections or paraphernalia around, please think of our Charity Table before getting rid of it. Every little bit helps our community.

A big thank-you must go to all who help make our shows such a success: The staff at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede for their unwavering support and assistance, the caterer for the food, the steadfast security guy, Canada Post for their door prize donations and the Medicine Hat News for making space available for Collector’s Corner.

Thank you of course to the vendors and Coin and Stamp Club members who volunteer to make sure those million and one little things get done. To the couple from Gem who donated a large stamp collection to the charity table. And a special thanks to all the people from all over southern Alberta and Saskatchewan who took the time on a beautiful weekend day to come out and support the local Coin and Stamp Club.
