Canada Post has continued its annual tradition of Christmas stamps with the Madonna and Child Permanent domestic rate stamp. The design uses the style of stained-glass windows found in churches, emphasizing the timeless beauty of the Madonna and Child. The Medicine Hat Coin and Stamp Club operates two trade shows a year – in April and September at the Exhibition & Stampede grounds. We have vendors from across Alberta and Saskatchewan. The public is welcome to attend to buy, sell or have appraisals or receive advice about their collections. This year the club introduced charity tables at which we sold items that were donated to us by club members or by the public at large. There were no set prices and we accepted offers on all items. The club raised over $400 from these sales, which was subsequently donated to local charities at the end of the year. Should anyone have collections or accumulations of stamps or coins that they do not know what to do with, they would be encouraged to donate them to the Coin and Stamp Club for the Charity Table. All proceeds stay in the community. For more information please refer to our web page mhcasc.ca or follow us on Facebook. The club meets at the Victory Lutheran Church on the second and fourth Tuesday evening of each month at 7 p.m. We would love to see you there. Happy New Year! Dennis Vickery. Collector’s Corner is contributed by the Medicine Hat Coin and Stamp Club. For questions or comments about coin or stamp collection email@medhatcsc@live.com 9
