The character of Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney in 1928.

This longtime mascot of the Disney Corporation is probably the most popular cartoon character of all time.

Mickey and many other Disney characters have been featured on stamps from all over the world with several hundred issued in the early to mid-1980s.

The nations of the Caribbean had a particular affinity for featuring Disney characters on stamps with all the favourites like Donald Duck, Goofy, Bambi, Snow White, the Jungle Book and many more.

Christmas and Easter themes were very popular with all the gang being showcased in many of their zany antics.

The Disney stamps were primarily issued in sets accompanied by a Souvenir Sheet (think a really big stamp).

The accompanying picture is an example of a souvenir sheet from Grenada Grenadines showing our hero Mickey working as a fire fighter.
