Rats … invasive species are back in Medicine Hat

By Marty Drut and Gerry Ehlert on April 20, 2019.

Alberta’s rat free success requires rules of law, resources, team work, monitoring and effective control by the provincial and municipal governments, and land owners. Continued monitoring and control will be necessary.

Unfortunately, in Medicine Hat we have other “kinds of rats” in our properties and businesses. These sneak attack artists are non-native plants and animals that can spread on land and in water. They do harm to property owners, businesses, and the environment. They cost us money, and more money if we wait too long.

Do you know how to look out for and control invasive species?

To learn more, register at eventbrite.ca to attend Medicine Hat’s Most Unwanted – Invasive Species Workshop May 4 at the Police Point Park Nature Centre.
