Volunteer Appreciation

Volunteers from across Medicine Hat had a great time at the Community Volunteer Appreciation Event on June 12. Phil Callaway entertained the volunteers with comedy and stories and encouraged them in their volunteering.

The Seniors’ Centre will be closed July 2 in lieu of Canada Day July 1.

Meals for Men by Meadowlands

Are you a gentleman who lives alone? If so, you are invited to a special event on Wednesday, July 4 from 4-6:30 p.m. at Meadowlands.

Attendees will make a meal to enjoy together and four more to take home. This month’s menu is Homemade Burgers, Baked Potatoes and Beans with all the fixings. Cost is $10.

Thank you to our community partners!

Seniors’ Week 2018 concluded with a barbecue at the Bistro. Generous community partners made the day extra special.

TD Banks in Medicine Hat donated $3,000 to the SCAC Foundation. These funds will be used towards programming expenses at the Seniors’ Centre. Laverne Noble received the cheque from representatives of TD Banks.

Canlin Energy donated $1,000 towards the Meals on Wheels program. Chris Charland of Canlin Energy presented the generous cheque to long-time Meals on Wheels driver John John and Randy Follett (Manager of Community Connections & Support for the City of Medicine Hat).
