Medicine Hat News Hatters can connect with others, build trust, and get involved in doing things together by coming to the Pecha Kucha night on Friday, starting at 8:20 p.m. at Medalta. Ten community members will be speaking on topics that they are passionate about, in a specific presentation format that includes 20 slides running for 20 seconds each. Pecha Kucha organizer Dawn Olson says “through these short talks we can learn about one another, develop understanding, and build our community.” The roster of speakers, and their topics, is: Martin Povey — A world without imagination Shawna Murphy — Hippocampus Reading Foundation in Bangalore Scott Payne — Project 175 War Memorial Peter Mueller — Walking the Camino de Santiago Colton Eremenko — 41 North Salsa Roxanne Baird — on Gratitude Ron Payne — Scuba diving Jenna Turner — Medalta artist Shantel Ottenbreit — Community building projects Barry Bernhardt — Law and Poetry Admission is free, but a $1 donation is suggested. A cash bar will also be available. 17
