Mayor is OK, but whole council should be changed

By Letter to the Editor on October 13, 2017.

Re: “Can’t vote for anyone on mayoral ballot,” Oct. 5

What about our present mayor? He is young, bright, full of grand ideas, and performs very well at ribbon cutting and other special occasions.

What I have a problem with is the council. I think the whole works should be replaced. I think they have been too eager to say “yes sir” whenever the mayor speaks or places a proposal before them to vote on.

One instance is a person wrote into the paper saying he was at the meeting where they voted on a pay hike for city employees. In the letter he said there was no discussion or questions whatsoever before the vote. They just passed it.

The most recent is the transit debacle.

When it was first put before council to be voted on, if even one councillor had taken a minute and looked at what he was voting for I am sure that person would have raised a red flag.

It seems this council has been a flop from day one. They remind me of a young bride on her honeymoon with Prince Charming.
