HAMILTON – Bo Levi Mitchell created a stir Wednesday at the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ rookie camp.

The veteran quarterback attended the opening day wearing a walking boot on his right foot. Sophomore Taylor Powell took the majority of snaps.

Mitchell suffered a fractured right leg last season that required surgery.

Afterwards, Ticats head coach Scott Milanovich told reporters Mitchell was wearing the boot as a precaution and that he expected the quarterback to practise with the team Monday.

The Ticats will formally open training camp Sunday.

Mitchell, 34, is entering his second season with Hamilton. Thre leg fracture and an adductor injury limited the two-time CFL MVP to just six starts (2-4 record) as he completed 78-of-132 passes (59.1 per cent) for 1,031 yards with six touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
