QMJHL roundup: Dumais nets 7 points as Mooseheads crush Wildcats 11-3

MONCTON, N.B. – Jordan Dumais scored four goals and added three assists as the visiting Halifax Mooseheads crushed the Monton Wildcats 11-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Sunday.

Josh Lawrence scored three goals for the Mooseheads (37-8-4-3), while Mathieu Cataford scored twice, and Alexandre Doucet and Evan Boucher netted singles.

Vincent Labelle, Preston Lounsbury and Yoan Loshing scored for the Wildcats (25-25-1-2).

The Mooseheads outshot the hosts 38-29 and led 3-0 after the first period and 10-1 after 40 minutes.

BATHURST, N.B. – Joshua Roy scored twice and Joe Fleming added two assists as the visiting Sherbrooke Phoenix defeated the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 5-3.

Andrew Belchamber, Jacob Melanson and Ethan Gauthier also scored for the Western Conference-leading Phoenix (38-12-3-2).

Joseph Henneberry scored twice for the Titan (15-30-5-3), while Donovan Arsenault netted a single.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. – Alexander Gaudio’s goal at 17:40 of the second period stood up as the winner as the visiting Rimouski Oceanic edged the Victoriaville Tigres 3-2.

Simon Maltais and Jan Sprynar also scored for the Oceanic (29-23-2-1). Mathis Aguilar chipped in with two assists.

Frederic Brunet and Egor Goriunov scored for the Tigres (33-15-1-5).

GATINEAU, Que. – Alexis Gendron scored twice as the Gatineau Olympiques defeated the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 5-2.

Zachary Dean, Tristan Luneau and Noah Warren all scored for the Olympiques (36-12-4-2)

Tristan Allard and Samuel Rousseau scored for the Huskies (31-17-4-3).

REMPARTS 6 ARMADA 2

BLAINVILLE-BOISBRIAND, Que. – Théo Rochette and James Malatesta each scored twice as the visiting Quebec Remparts dumped the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 6-2.

Jeremy Langlois and Zachary Bolduc also scored for the Eastern Conference-leading Remparts (44-7-1-2).

Mikael Denis and Thomas Paquet scored for the Armada (20-28-5-2).

SAGUENEENS 4 FOREURS 2

VAL-D’OR, Que. – Alexis Morin and Emmanuel Vermette each scored twice as the visiting Chicoutimi Sagueneens defeated the Val-d’Or Foreurs 4-2.

Sagueneens (29-25-2-0) goaltender Charles-Antoine Lavallée saved 32 of 34 shots.

Nathan Brisson scored twice for the Foreurs (21-32-2-0).

Foreurs netminder Mathys Fernandez kicked out 36 of 40 shots.
