Rattlers Roundup: MHC men’s soccer split final weekend of ACAC season

The Medicine Hat College men’s soccer team picked up a win in the last weekend of the ACAC regular season.

After falling 5-0 to the SAIT Trojans on Saturday, the Rattlers capped off the 2024 season with a 5-0 win Sunday over the Lethbridge Kodiaks.

Stefan Vrska made 18 saves in the Rattlers’ loss Saturday. On Sunday, Leopold Boisvert started in net with a save before Noah Scolly played the last 85 minutes with three saves to preserve the shutout.

Joao Cintra scored three times Sunday, with Myles Siwela and Rafael Almeida each finding the back of the net.

The Rattlers’ women’s team was also in action, falling 4-2 to SAIT on Saturday and 2-1 to Lethbridge on Sunday.

Olivia Bender had a goal and an assist against SAIT, Audyn Mettauer scored the other MHC goal. Abby Lalach made 13 saves.

Against Lethbridge, Bender scored the lone Rattlers’ goal. Rylan Morhart made nine saves.

Hockey

The Rattlers women’s hockey team had a pair of home games over the weekend again the NAIT Ooks.

They lost 8-1 on Friday and 8-0 on Saturday.

Sienna Vieira scored MHC’s lone goal Friday, Anna Stewart made 51 saves. In Saturday’s loss, Jessika Charron had 43 saves.

The Rattlers’ women’s hockey team (1-3) are on the road this weekend against the Olds College Broncos.
