Valk remains tied for third after second day of national college golf finals

Medicine Hat College golfer Michael Valk remains in the top three of golf nationals.

Valk finished tied for third after the second day of CCAA golf championships at Humber College in Etobicoke, Ont.

The Rattlers leader shot a second round 74, sitting five over par and three strokes behind the leader Zach Pageau of Cégep André-Laurendeau.

The four other Medicine Hat men’s golf finishes were Rylan Montgomery at 46th, Rylan Hodgson at 47, Jace Shannon tied for 49th and Keelan Burzminksi at 51st.

The Rattlers men’s team finished the second day of golf in eighth.

On the women’s side, Medicine Hat’s Kiara Reesor finished 15th and Taryn Sanderson was 17th.

They are on the ACAC women’s No. 2 team, who finished Day 2 in fifth.

The CCAA tournament continues today as the penultimate round gets underway with the finishing round on Friday.
