Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll made his impact felt early Thursday morning.

The Medicine Hat Tigers rookie forward had a goal and three points for the United States U17 team in their first game at the First Nations tournament, an 8-1 win over Germany.

Gordon-Carroll, the 15-year-old Salt Lake City, Utah product, was selected as captain for the U.S. team at the week-long tournament hosted in Slovakia.

The United States will face Switzerland on Friday, Czechia on Saturday and Slovakia on Sunday. The tournament is a primer for Gordon-Carroll, who will be in attendance at Tigers’ training camp at the end of this month, his first training camp since signing with the WHL club in April.
