The Spokane Chiefs officially threw their hat into the ring for the 2026 Memorial Cup.

The Chiefs announced the intent to bid on the 2026 Memorial Cup, becoming the fourth WHL team to make the official announcement.

“We believe the combination of our team, staff, facilities and City of Spokane will provide for an unforgettable Memorial Cup,” Spokane Chiefs governor Bobby Brett said in a release.

“Fans from all over the region will get the chance to watch the four best teams in the CHL compete for the hardest trophy in all of hockey to win.”

The Chiefs join the Kelowna Rockets, Brandon Wheat Kings and Lethbridge Hurricanes as teams to publicly announce their intent to bid.

The next step in the process is the submission of the official bids to the CHL, with the deadline set on Sept. 20.
