Mavs kick off season’s final stretch

The Mavs were at Swift Current on Tuesday, taking on the 57’s for the first of a seven-game stretch that will finish their regular season. The Mavs are back at Swift Current tonight before they return to Athletic Park to host the East Division-leading Regina Red Sox on Thursday and Friday. Medicine Hat (29-20) trails Regina by four and a half games in the division standings, with the Red Sox (34-16) having played one more game than the Mavs. Regina was at Moose Jaw taking on the Miller Express on Tuesday. They are at Weyburn tonight facing the Beavers before the two-game stand at Medicine Hat. The Red Sox wrap the season with a home-and-home series on Sunday and Monday against Weyburn.
