Med Hat Tennis Club hosts singles tourney over weekend

The Medicine Hat Tennis Club hosted its first tournament of the summer.

The local tennis club held its city singles tournament over the weekend.

Niall Weich won the Men’s Open A, defeating Calvin Heller (6-1, 7-5). Geoff Paulgaard won the Men’s Open B, defeating Dave Reinheller (7-5, 3-6, 6-4).

The Women’s Open A was won by Dawn Olson, who defeated Lauren Danroth (6-0, 6-1) and Danson McIlory O’Driscol took the Women’s Open B by defeating Sandy McIntosh (6-1, 6-1).

The Men’s Intermediate A was won by Theron Bensler who defeated Luke Knapczk (3-6, 6-3, 6-4). Wayne Reinheller won the Men’s Intermediate B by defeating Spiro Douvis (6-4, 7-5).

The Women’s Intermediate A was won by Leana Koch, defeating Maryn Paulgaard (7-5, 4-6, 6-4).

Christina Douvis won the Women’s Intermediate B.
