The Medicine Hat Mavericks will have some familiar faces in the lineup this season for local baseball fans.

The Mavs announced the commitment of local product Evan Morrison for the 2024 summer. Evan, the nephew of Mavs owner and general manager Greg Morrison, plays first base, third base and left field at Western Texas College.

He’s the third Medicine Hat commitment for the upcoming summer, joining left-handed pitcher Brett Getz as a local player. Tory Nelson has signed on as an assistant coach for the upcoming season after playing two years in the Mavs’ red and white.

The Mavs have been trickling out the announcement of their players signed for the upcoming WCBL season, with a total of 31 announced to date.

The 2024 season gets underway May 25 in Moose Jaw against the Miller Express.
