Minor hockey roundup: U17AAA SEAC Tigers move on in AEHL playoffs

The U17AAA South East Athletic Club Tigers took care of business in their first round of playoffs.

The Tigers beat the Okotoks Oilers 2-0 in their best-of-three series with a 4-3 win March 13 and a 5-3 victory Saturday.

Treyden Kleinknecht had a goal and two assists in the 4-3 win, with Elijah Fleck and Colby Gulliver each adding a goal and an assist. Randen Collier scored a solo marker and Kolter Gans made 37 saves.

In Saturday’s series winner, Karter Kurpjuweit had two goals with an assist, Gulliver tallied a goal and an assist and both Kleinknecht and Tate Bowal scored solo markers. Kayne Wright made 41 saves.

The U17AAA Tigers’ playoffs continue Wednesday with the first of a best-of-three against the Airdrie Avalanche. The Tigers host the Avalanche for Game 2 on Saturday at the Hockey Hounds arena and Game 3, if needed, would be Sunday.
