For the first time this season the Medicine Hat Tigers have lost three straight games.

The Tigers dropped both of their games over the weekend in Saskatchewan, falling 3-1 to the Saskatoon Blades on Friday and getting knocked around 8-3 Saturday by the Prince Albert Raiders.

With a 5-1 loss Mar. 6 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes, the Tigers have three losses in a row after avoiding losing more than two straight all season. They have a record of 3-5-2-0 in their last 10 games.

Andrew Basha scored the lone goal against the Blades, with Gavin McKenna and Oasiz Wiesblatt recording the assists on his 28th of the season.

In Saturday’s bloated loss, Reid Andresen, Hunter St. Martin and Tyler MacKenzie scored against the Raiders. Basha had the lone assist on Andresen’s eighth, Wiesblatt and Josh Van Mulligen assisted St. Martin’s 23rd and Basha and Tomas Mrsic had the helpers on MacKenzie’s 16th.

Zach Zahara started both games, with 25 saves against the Blades and 23 in Saturday’s game.

With the losses, the Tigers (35-22-5-2) Central division lead is down to one point over the Swift Current Broncos who have three games in hand. The Broncos face the Raiders on Tuesday ahead of a home-and-home with the Tigers starting Friday at Swift Current.
