AMAC Swim Club send seven swimmers to long course provincials

The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club attended Swim Alberta’s long course provincial champs in Calgary this weekend.

The local swim club had seven qualified swimmers compete at the provincial meet, here are their results.

Female swimmers

Nayla Berg (12): Finished 10th in 200m Breast, 14th in 100m Breast B Final, 18th in 50m Breast, 22nd in 50m Fly, 33rd in 50m Free and 100m Free and 34th in 100m Back.

Abigail Begin (16): Finished 16th in Girls 15 and over 400m Free Relay for a new club record, 25th in 50m Back, 30th in 100m Back, 36th in 100m Fly, 42nd in 50m Breast and 61st in 50m Free.

Rowynn Biffart (15) received a Youth Recognition award (Top 10 in Canada). She finished sixth in 100m Breast A Final, seventh in 400m IM A Final, ninth in 200m Breast B Final, 14th in 50m Breast B Final and 50m Fly B Final, 15th in 50m Back B Final, 16th in Girls 15 and over 400m for a new club record and 17th in 50m Free.

Morgan Hobson (15): Finished 16th Girls 15 and over in 400m Free Relay achieving a New Club Record, 19th in 50m Breast, 27th in 200m Breast and 100m Breast, 45th in 50m Back, 54th in 100m Free, 55th in 50m Free and 56th in 100m Back.

Sarah Kradovill (15): Finsihed 16th in Girls 15 and over 400 Free Relay for a new club record, 20th in 50m Breast, 27th in 100m Fly, 30th in 100m Breast, 33rd in 100m Free, 45th in 100m Back, 49th in 50m Free and 51st in 50m Fly.

Male swimmers

Masao Mori (12) achieved five club records and 13 and under provincial champ times in all races. He finished fifth in 400m IM A Final, sixth in 50m Breast A Final and 200m Breast A Final, seventh in 200m IM A Final, ninth in 800m Free 10th in 100m Breast B Final and 17th in 50m Fly.

Caen McWilliams (14) achieved a Western Canadian qualifying time in 200m Back A Final, placing fifth. He also finished sixth in 800m free achieving a new provincial champ time, 15th in 50m Back B Final, 18th in 100m Back, 21st in 200m Free and 26th in 50m Free.

Next up for AMAC is the Pronghorn Classic, hosted by LASC next weekend in Lethbridge.
