Tier 2 Hounds open playoffs with 2-game point series

The Medicine Hat Hounds Tier 2 played their first round of playoffs this past weekend.

The Hounds faced off against Strathmore Storm in a two-game total points series.

On Saturday afternoon at Hockey Hounds Arena, the Hounds came back for a 3-3 tie.

Strathmore opened up the scoring and took a two-goal lead on the Hounds in the first period. The Hounds came back in the third with three goals, with Conner Hofer potting two and Tomas Campbell adding a solo marker.

Strathmore netted a third goal finishing the game at 3-3.

On Sunday, the Hounds travelled to Hussar, coming away with a 9-7 series win.

The Hounds opened up the scoring with three goals in the first period with James Straub finding twine twice and Owen Romaniuk scoring as well.

Strathmore scored twice in the second but the Hounds answered back with three goals from Finn Willerton, Ryder Droeske and Nate Orr.

Strathmore scored twice in the third but the Hounds held on to take the game and the series 9-7.

The Tier 2 Hounds are back in action playing for the tier 2 blue banner next weekend against Duchess.
