Minor Hockey Roundup: U18AA Hounds go undefeated across weekend slate

The Medicine Hat U18A Hounds had a winning weekend.

The Hounds didn’t record a loss over the weekend, with a 4-3 win Friday over the Okotoks Oilers and had a 4-4 draw against the Oilers on Sunday.

Ethan Hall led the offence in Friday’s win with a goal and three points. Jaxon Scrivener had a goal and an assist and Blake Dosenberger recorded two helpers. Both Kian Green and Nolan Sutherland had a goal each. Parker McLaughlin made 39 saves in the win.

Sutherland led the offence in Sunday’s draw, recording two goals and three points. Quade VanderSpruit had two goals and Treyson Girletz had two helpers. Adam Ranger made 59 saves in the tie.

The U18AA Hounds (6-15-5) host the Foothills Bisons on Saturday at the Big Marble Go Centre.

U16

The U16AA Hounds had a two-game set this weekend with Airdrie Havoc, falling 11-0 on Saturday and 9-1 on Sunday.

Kayden Van Ham and Grady Brost split duties in net in Saturday’s loss, making a combined 41 saves. Brody Dick scored the Hounds’ lone goal in Sunday’s loss, with Brost making 51 saves.

The Hounds (5-18-2) host the Red Deer TBS on Saturday before hitting the road Sunday to face the Wheatland Raiders.

U15

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers had two games against the Red Deer Rebels this weekend, falling 7-0 on Saturday and 3-1 on Sunday.

Sasha Shushkov made 25 saves in Saturday’s loss. Illya Khazov scored their only goal Sunday and Paxton Smigelski made 37 saves.

The U15AAA Tigers (6-4-2-1) have three road games this weekend.

Medicine Hat’s U15AA Tigers dropped both of their weekend contests, falling 7-2 to the Bow Valley Timberwolves on Saturday and 2-1 to the Wheatland Warriors on Sunday.

Chase Murphy and Dane Friedt each scored in Saturday’s loss, Conner Aldag made 34 saves. In Sunday’s loss, Kian Lang scored and Jake Druar made 39 saves.

The U15AA SEAC Tigers (12-12-3) host the Airdrie Lightning on Saturday and the Wheatland Warriors on Sunday, both games at the Hockey Hounds arena.
