Minor hockey roundup: U13AA Hounds split weekend at home

The Medicine Hat U13AA Hounds ended their weekend on a high note.

The Hounds split their weekend against the East Kootenay Avalanche, with a 5-3 loss Saturday and a 9-1 win Sunday.

Macen Ibach scored twice and Kovann Chisholm added a goal and an assist in Saturday’s loss. Colson Neigum and Hunter Munro split the game in net, making a combined 21 saves.

Carter Jarvis led the offence in Sunday’s win with three goals and five points. Lincoln Steinkey had a goal and three points and Ibach scored twice. Chisholm chipped in with a goal and an assist and both Cooper Danroth and Michael Fauth had a goal, Brody Eresman had two helpers.

Munro made 20 saves in the win.

The U13AA Hounds (17-8-2) are off until Feb. 3.

U15

The Medicine Hat U15AA South East Athletic Club Tigers had two games over the weekend. They beat the East Kootenay Avalanche 5-4 on Saturday and faced the Foothills Bisons on Sunday.

Alexzander Schabler had a goal and three points and Jaxon Martin added two goals in Saturday’s win. Creed Geekie and Chase Murphy each had a goal and Conner Aldag made 31 saves.

Sunday’s results were not reported by press time.

The U15AA Tigers (12-10-3) are on the road Saturday before hosting the Wheatland Warriors on Sunday.

U17

The U17AAA SEAC Tigers had two games over the weekend, picking up a win and a loss. They beat the Parkland Saints 2-1 Friday before falling 8-3 to the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday.

Karter Kurbjuweit and Easton Kurpjuweit each scored in the win Friday and Kayne Wright made 32 saves.

Davin Torgerson, Mason Seibel and Tate Bowal each scored in Saturday’s loss, Nixon Kunkel had two helpers and Wright made 26 saves.

The U17AA Tigers (12-11) are off until Feb. 3.

U18

The U18AA Hounds had one game over the weekend, falling 4-2 to the Taber Golden Suns on Saturday.

Greyson Girletz and Quade VanderSpruit each scored and Adam Ranger made 33 saves in the loss.

The U18AA Hounds (5-15-4) have two games next weekend, hosting the Okotoks Oilers on Friday.
