Minor hockey roundup: U17AAA SEAC Tigers split weekend series

The U17AAA South East Athletic Club Tigers had an even weekend.

The SEAC Tigers lost 3-2 Friday night to the Calgary Royals but bounced back with a 5-1 win Sunday at home over the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers.

Grady Ford and Kade Dickie scored in Friday’s loss and Kolter Gans made 28 saves.

Randen Collier led the offence in Sunday’s win with a goal and two assists. Colby Gulliver and Davin Torgerson each had a goal and an assist and both Nixon Kunkel and Mason Seibel each scored as well. Colby Motz had two assists and Kayne Wright made 24 saves.

The U17AAA Tigers (11-7) are not in action again until January.

U13

The U13AA Hounds had one game over the weekend, facing the Wheatland Braves on Sunday. Those results were not available by press time. The U13AA Hounds (12-6-1) host the Wheatland Braves at the Kinplex on Saturday.

U15

The U15AA SEAC Tigers split their weekend slate. They won 5-2 Friday over the Golden Suns and lost 6-3 Sunday to the Airdrie Lightning.

Zander Kitching had two goals in Friday’s win. Dane Friedt added a goal and an assist and both Creed Geekie and Taisen Yake each scored a goal. Conner Aldag made 26 saves for the victory.

Gavin Perry, Alexzander Schabler and Chase Murphy each scored in Sunday’s loss, Aldag made 30 saves.

The U15AA Tigers (9-7-1) have two games this weekend, hosting the Bow Valley Timberwolves on Saturday.

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers dropped both of their games this weekend, falling 2-0 Saturday to the Red Deer Rebels and 8-5 Sunday to the Airdrie Xtreme.

Paxton Smigelski made 38 saves in Friday’s shutout loss.

Illya Khazov had two goals and an assist in Sunday’s loss. Carson Ward had a goal and two assists and both Lucas Fisher and Rhyder Arnold each scored as well. Sasha Shushkov made 40 saves.

The U15AAA Tigers (3-11) aren’t in action until January.

U16

The U16AA Hounds had two games this weekend, losing both. The Hounds lost 11-3 Saturday to the CNHA Northstars and were shutout 16-0 on Sunday by the Airdrie Havoc.

Ethan Hall had a goal and an assist in Saturday’s loss. Mavric Ward and Colton Pluta each scored in the loss and Grady Brost made 19 saves.

Brost and Kayden Van Ham split duties in net during Sunday’s loss, making a combined 47 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (3-13-1) have two home games this weekend, hosting the West Central Tigers on Saturday and Sunday.

U18

The U18AA Hounds had two games this weekend, hosting the NWCAA Stamps on Saturday and taking on the CRAA Blue on the road Sunday. Neither games results were posted by press time.

The U18 Hounds (3-8-4) have two home games this weekend, hosting the East Kootenay Avalanche on Friday and Saturday.
