McKenna and Team Canada Red open U17 Hockey Challenge today

sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The World U17 Hockey Challenge gets underway today for Medicine Hat Tigers forward Gavin McKenna and Team Canada. McKenna and Canada’s Team Red open their tournament against Team Finland with a 4 p.m. MST contest. Canada White takes on Czechia and Sweden is set to face-off agianst Team U.S.A. Canada Red will face Canada White on Friday in another 4 p.m. contest. On Saturday, McKenna and his Canadian teammates face off against Czechia at 11 a.m. and take on Sweden on Monday at 4 p.m. They wrap up the preliminaries Tuesday with a 4 p.m. matchup against Team U.S.A. The medal rounds kicks off next Thursday with the tournament finishing up next Saturday. Preliminary-round games, quarter-finals and semifinals will be available by livestream at HockeyCanada.ca. TSN and RDS will broadcast the medal games. 9-8
