The Western Canadian Baseball League all-star game and home run derby will remain in Okotoks for another year.

The WCBL announced Wednesday the Okotoks Dawgs will host the 2024 all-star game festivities at Seaman Stadium for a third straight summer. The mid-to-late season classic will be held July 20, 2024.

“The Dawgs are thrilled to again host the WCBL showcase,” said Dawgs founding and managing director John Ircandia in a press release. “The event is truly a grassroots baseball celebration of all that is positive in the sport. The all-star game is a way to recognize and say, ‘Thank you’ to both our players who dedicate their summer to entertain us with high-quality baseball, as well as to our extraordinary fans.”

The league also made an announcement regarding the 2024 season and two franchises entering the fold. The Saskatoon Berries join the WCBL for their inaugural season, while the Edmonton Prospects return to action after missing the 2023 summer due to construction of their new stadium.
