Minor hockey roundup: U13AA Hounds sweep pair of weekend games

The Medicine Hat U13AA Hounds picked up two wins over the weekend.

The Hounds opened the weekend with an 11-4 win over the Taber Golden Suns on Saturday. Carter Jarvis put up half a dozen points, scoring three goals and adding three assists. Macen Ibach recorded three goals and an assist and Cooper Danroth notched a hat trick of his own.

Lincoln Bensler had a goal and an assist and Diesel Bishop added a solo goal. Nash Davis had three assists and Hunter Munro made 36 saves in the win.

The Hounds carried the momentum into Sunday, winning 7-4 in a rematch with Taber. Jarvis had two goals with an assist and all of Bishop, Lincoln Steinkey, Kovann Chishol and Bensler recorded a goal and an assist. Danroth notched a solo marker and Ibach had three assists. Between the pipes, Munro turned aside 19 shots.

The U13 Hounds (5-2-1) host the Olds Grizzlys on Saturday before hitting the road to face the Foothills Bisons on Sunday.

U15

The U15AA South East Athletic Club Tigers swept their weekend slate, beating the Foothills Bisons 2-1 Saturday before topping them in a 6-3 rematch on Sunday.

Cole Siewert had a goal and an assist and Dane Friedt scored as well for the offence. Connor Aldag made 25 saves in Saturday’s win.

Gavin Perry had a goal and two assists in Sunday’s win with Maecen Nelson, Kian Lang, Friedt and Cooper Craven rounding out the scoring with a goal and an assist each. Alexzander Schabler and Chase Murphy each scored a goal and Jake Druar made 19 saves for the victory.

The U15AA Tigers (5-1-1) host the Olds Grizzly’s on Saturday before facing the Bisons on the road Sunday.

U16

The U16AA Hounds dropped their lone contest of the weekend, falling 9-3 Saturday against the Airdrie Havoc.

Ethan Hall and Mavric Ward each had a goal and an assist and Griffin Aadland had a solo marker. Grady Brost made 34 saves in the loss.

The Hounds (2-4) have two road games this weekend, facing the Wheatland Raiders and Lethbridge Hurricanes.

U17

The U17AAA SEAC Tigers won their only game on the weekend, beating the Calgary Northstars 4-2 on Saturday.

Ryker Watson and Grady Ford each totalled a goal and an assist and Randen Collier added a goal of his own. Kolter Gans turned aside 31 shots for the win.

The AAA Tigers (4-1) face the Calgary Flames on the road Saturday before hosting the Okotoks Oilers on Sunday.

U18

The U18AA Hounds hosted the CBHA Rangers on Saturday and ended the contest with a 2-2 draw.

Nolan Sutherland scored a goal and added an assist, and Hayden Gebhart found the back of the net for Medicine Hat’s offence. Adam Ranger made 36 saves in the tie.

The U18 Hounds (1-1-2) host the CRAA Gold on Friday night before facing the Okotoks Oilers on the road Saturday.
