Colts, Hawks RFC playoff opener cancelled

sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Monsignor McCoy Colts and Medicine Hat High Hawks playoff came was cancelled Friday night. The opening match of the Rangeland Football Conference playoffs was supposed to get underway at 7 p.m at the Methanex Bowl but kickoff never occurred between the first seed Hawks and fourth seed Colts. McCoy was unable to play in the game due to “circumstances beyond our control.” With the cancellation, the Hawks will receive a bye to the RFC finals next week where they will face the winner of the third seed Crescent Heights Vikings and the second place Brooks Buffaloes who did face off Friday night at Brooks. That game was not complete by press time. The Colts are slated to face the loser of the Vikings and Buffaloes in the RFC consolation game. 7-6
