Med Hat Boxing competes at Truth and Reconciliation tournament

The Medicine Hat Boxing Club fought at a special event for Truth and Reconciliation Day over the weekend.

The local club attended a boxing tournament at the One Arrow Reservation North of Saskatoon.

MHBC’s Asher Softic defeated Faizon Dar from North Battleford in the 75 kg Junior B Open Division. Softic won by TKO in the third round.

Medicine Hat’s Nate Vossler defeated Kaeden Hunter from Lonsdale Regina in the 60 kg Junior C Open division by unanimous decision. Hunter was part of Team Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games tournament in Charlottetown last March.

The Med Hat Boxing Club had one boxer in Calgary last weekend at the Sub Novice Tournament. Tavin Booker from MHBC defeated Daniel Heide from Taber by third-round stoppage in the 60 kg Novice division. Booker went on to win the Best Jr. B boxer of the tournament.
