MH Lawn Bowling wraps up men’s and pairs leagues

sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Club finished two of its competitive league seasons this week. The local club hosted its men’s finals on Monday and the pairs finals on Wednesday and Thursday. Curt Moll successfully defended his men’s single title with a 13-5 win over Mike Gilchrist. Gilchrist was up 5-0 after two ends, but couldn’t earn another point after that. Cave Starling took the bronze with a 11-9 win over Doug Sanregret. On the ‘B’ side, Sam Ferrier won gold with a 8-6 win over Frank Buck. Braydon Gordon took the bronze last week after losing to Ferrier. In the pairs championship Thursday, three time winners Wes and Jean Bresee were defeated by Mike and Marina Gilchrist 12-6 to win their first pairs title. The pairs league B side championship was held Wednesday, with Doug and Yvonne Sanregret defeating Cave and Janette Starling 11-5 to take the Red Amos Trophy. 8-7
