Brendan Lee is taking full advantage of his WHL scholarship opportunities.

The 21-year-old has committed to play at the U Sports level this upcoming season, having committed to the University of Calgary Dinos. The Medicine Hat Tigers announced the Seattle product’s commitment Friday in a press release.

“The Tigers would like to congratulate Brendan and his family on continuing his hockey career while pursuing academic opportunities through the WHL Scholarship and Development program.”

Lee played 79 games in orange and black, notching 37 goals and 69 points. He had one goal and two points in the Tigers’ four playoffs games last season. He led the team in scoring during the regular season, with 32 goals and 59 points in the 2022-23 campaign.

He joined the Tigers ahead of the 2021-22 trade deadline, coming from the Saskatoon Blades in a three-way deal that involved the Prince George Cougars. Lee broke into the WHL in the 2019-20 season with the Everett Silvertips. In a combined four seasons in the WHL, Lee had 53 goals and 99 points in 180 games.

The Dinos are coming off a record breaking season, winning the Canada West Division with a record of 25-3. Their magical season included a 23-game winning streak.
