AMAC Swim Club competes at local swim meet

The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club had a handful of swimmers compete at a local qualifying meet this weekend.

Five swimmers from the local swim club competed at the Summer Festival South qualifying meet at the Big Marble Go Centre, racing against southern Alberta’s fastest 10-and-under girls and 11-and-under boys.

The AMAC Swim Club results were:

Gage Anderson (11) received four new best times, placing fourth in 50m Back, 100m Back, and 100m Medley Mixed Relay, fifth in 100m Free Mixed Relay, ninth in 100m Free, 21st in 100m Breast, 25th in 50m Free and 29th in 50m Breast.

Carleigh Gainsborough (10) achieved four new best times and two new festival qualifying times, placing fourth in 100m Medley Mixed Relay, fifth in 100m Free Mixed Relay, 17th in 100m Breast, 24th in 100m Back, 25th in 50m Breast, 46th in 50m Free and 47th in 50m Back.

Olivia McWilliams (10) achieved five new best times and one new festival qualifying time, placing fourth in 100m Medley Mixed Relay, fifth in 100m Free Mixed Relay, 18th in 100m Back, 20th in 100m Breast, 28th In 50m Back, 29th in 50m Breast, 34th in 100m Free and 50th in 50m Free

Masao Mori (11) achieved six new best times, placing third in 100m Fly, 50m breast and 100m Breast, fourth in 100m Free and 100m Medley Mixed Relay, fifth in 100m Free Mixed Relay and sixth in 50m Free.

Jack Mulligan (11) achieved four new best times, placing 23rd in 100m Back, 24th in 100m Breast, 26th in 100m Free, 32nd in 50m Breast, 47th 50m Free and 58th in 50m Back.

Next up for AMAC swim club is the Steve Brown memorial Classic at the MNP community and Sports Centre.
