The Medicine Hat Mavericks wrapped up their weekend on a sour note. The Mavericks lost 10-3 Sunday in Moose Jaw against the Miller Express. The loss comes a little over 16 hours after Medicine Hat beat the Miller Express 7-6 Saturday evening. Moose Jaw opened the scoring with a one-out solo home run from designated hitter Dawson Tweet. The Mavericks got on the board in the top of the third inning with catcher Andrew Savage scoring on a wild pitch. Moose Jaw broke the tie in the same inning, scoring four runs for a 5-1 lead. Medicine Hat added a run in the top of the fifth inning on a RBI hit from shortstop Tyler Vanneste to bring the game to 5-2. Moose Jaw would go on a run and scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the bottom of the seventh for a 10-2 lead. Bryce Libke started the game for the Mavericks, striking out four in four innings pitched while allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk. Casey Henderson entered the game in relief in the fifth inning and pitched three frames, striking out two while allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. Evan Bolger pitched the eighth inning for the Mavericks, striking out one while allowing a hit and surrendering two walks. The Mavericks added a run in the top of the eighth inning on a RBI double from 3B Nathan Tarver. That was the last run of the game as Medicine Hat could scrape any more runs across in the ninth inning, falling 10-3. The Mavericks (6-7) are back in action Monday at Athletic Park when they host the Fort McMurray Giants for a 7:05 p.m. contest. 10
