Talons drop Wednesday contest at home

The Eagle Butte Talons Sr. baseball team lost their lone home contest of the week.

The Talons fell 13-5 against the Kate Andrew Pride at Jeffries field.

Eagle Butte had 11 hits in defeat with Waylan Watson leading the way. He had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Watson also started the game on the mound, notching five strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched.

Graceon Little added two hits and an RBI with a walk to Eagle Butte’s offence.

Parker Krauss, Caleb Driediger and Little all pitched out of the bullpen, working a combined 4.2 innings with nine strikeouts.

The Talons (0-3) are in action again Thursday when they hit the road to face the Magrath Zeniths. Their next home action is May 9, an inner city battle with the Medicne Hat High Hawks at Jeffries Park.

Colts win big

The Monsignor McCoy Sr. Colts worked a shutout Wednesday, beating the Catholic Central Cougars 10-0 at McCoy field.

Caleb Garrecht led the Colts with two hits, two runs scored and three RBIs. He also worked 5.2 innings off the mound, striking out six for the win.

Kayne Olisnki had two hits with a run scored and a RBI. He also pitched in the win, recording the final out of the game.

Jackson Bowal, JJ Harnett, Fischer Haysom and Garrecht all each stole two bases.

The Colts (2-0) are back in action Thursday when they face the Medicne Hat High Hawks in a rematch of the provincial finals last season. That contest gets underway at 5:30 p.m. at Athletic Park.

Hawks win

on the road

The Hat High Hawks brought their offence on the road, beating the Raymond High School Comets 13-3.

Koby Eskestrand led the Hawks offence with three hits, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Jeff Bullock added two hits and two runs scored with a RBI to the Hat High offence.

Aidan Nelson started the game on the mound for the Hawks, pitching two innings with four strikeouts.

Trevin Ressler came out of the bullpen and worked three innings with eight strikeouts.

Cade Moch was the Hawks final arm of the night, he did not allow a hit and struck out four of the five vatters he faced.

The Hawks’ next action is Thursday against the Colts.
