The Talons beat the Raymond Comets in a high-scoring affair Tuesday night, winning 17-12. The game was tied 12-12 when the Talons stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the sixth. Ryan Miller singled on a 3-1 count to break the tie by scoring two runs. The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game, with the Comets outhitting the Talons 8-7. Dylan Amundson pitched Eagle Butte to victory, throwing 1.2 innings, allowing zero runs on two hits while striking out four. Parker Krauss threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Waylan Watson started the game for EBHS, allowing six runs on two hits over 4.2 innings, striking out eight. Miller was 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Talons in hits, Amundson led them with three stolen bases, part of Eagle Butte’s 14 stolen bases in the win. JV Talons drop season opener The EBHS Talons JV team lost their first game of the year, falling 16-8 against the Brooks Buffalos. The Buffalos outhit Eagle Butte 13-10 in the contest. Ty Meyer was on the hill for EBHS Talons JV. The right-hander allowed zero hits and three runs over 1.2 innings, striking out four and walking one. Ward Davies, Kane Bishop, and Nixon Davis each pitched in relief for the JV Talons. Davies and Meyer each had multiple hits for Eagle Butte, three players stole at least two bases with Bishop leading the way with two. 14
