Medicine Hat Waves swimmer Rowynn Biffart competed at the Canadian Swimming Trials last week in Toronto.

The local swimmer opened her races on Tuesday with a qualifying 200m breaststroke swim that placed her as the ninth ranked junior swimmer after preliminaries which qualified her at seventh in the Junior final. She jumped two spots in her evening swim, finishing fifth in the final and seventh overall, ranking her with the second fastest 200Br in Canada for 2008-born swimmers

On Wednesday she swam in a time trial 50m back, taking 1.2 seconds off her best time giving her another Westerns qualifying standard.

Thursday was her last day of swimming, with 100m breaststroke preliminaries and 50m free time trial on the schedule. She passed her morning prelim swim at Westerns and was left with just her 50m free time trial for the her first trials. There she replicated a similar swim in her 50m free to that of Westerns in Calgary just a week before.
