sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club attended the 2023 Speedo Western Championships hosted by Swim Canada in Calgary over the weekend. Here are their results: Female 16 and over Jaivyn Barabe (17) Seeded 14th in 100m breast, received a best time in prelims and earned a ticket into the A-Finals placing sixth overall. She finished eighth in 50m breast, placing fifth overall in A-Finals. She also placed 33rd in 50m fly. Delrae Vetter (18) Placed ninth in 100m breast and reached a seventh place finish. In 50m breast, she achieved a new best time in prelims earning a ninth place spot in B-Finals. Those finals brought in another best time, earning a Sr. national championship time title and an 10th place finish. In the 200m IM she finished fifth in prelims but could not attend finals. Boys 16 and over Ashton Scholly (18) achieved an 28th finish in 50m back. Next up for AMAC swim club is the Bell Canada Swimming trials in Toronto, where Barabe will be competing. 10
