sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The South Alberta Hockey Academy women’s team are on a roll to start their CSSHL playoffs. The local hockey academy women’s team is 3-0 through the round robin in the U18 playoff tournament hosted in Penticton. SAHA was led by Keira Grant’s two goals and one assist on Monday as they beat Okanagan Hockey Academy 6-1. Téa Pearce and Brianna Finke each added a goal and an assist in the win, with Norah Andronyk and Kendal Davidson each also scoring a goal. Maddy Ferguson turned aside all but one of the 17 shots she faced. They followed that win up on Tuesday, beating Edge School 2-1. Pearce and Finke scored in that victory with Devyn Amundson making 33 saves. SAHA’s next game is today in a semifinal matchup against Shawnigan Lake School set for 2:45 p.m. PST. A victory in that game and SAHA will play in the league finals on Thursday. Men get started Tuesday The SAHA men’s team opened their round robin action with a late contest against RHA Winnipeg. That game, which got underway at 9:15 p.m., was not complete by time of press. SAHA’s second and last round-robin game is this afternoon at 4:15 p.m. against St. George’s school. 10
