The Medicine Hat U16 Matrix finished their ringette play-downs this weekend in a big way.

They hosted two games this weekend, going undefeated. In their first match, the Matrix came back from a two-goal deficit to tie the North West Calgary Exile 5-5. Savannah Savoy scored her first goal of the season with the rest of the offence coming from Kasey Martin, Ava Allchurch, Karly Stennick and Grace Ammann. Kyree Stern stood tall between the pipes.

The Matrix took over their second game, beating the North West Calgary Rage 6-0. Stern turned aside every shot she faced to pick up her fifth shutout. Ammann had two goals and two assists in the win with Marrtin adding a goal and two assists as well. Provost and Want each had a goal and an assist and Tindall added a goal of her own.

The Matrix wrapped up their season first in the South zone for play-downs with a record of 4-0-1. They look to carry that momentum into provincials, which will be held in Medicine Hat on Mar. 17-19.

Sutton Provost had a goal as well. Assists came from Kensie Provost, Tia Van Maarion, Eden Schmunk, Madison Helgeson as well as Wright and Kerr. Sadie Berstad in net for the win.

The Mud Dawgs carried the momentum into their second game, shutting out the Airdrie Snipers 6-0. Emma Pinnel was between the pipes for the shutout. Kerr kept the offence flowing with two goals in the victory, as Sutton Provost, Allchurch, Sloane Berstad and Wright each scoring a goal.
