sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Three local Waves swimmers raced in Calgary this past weekend with the possibility of qualifying for provincial championships on the line. The three swimmers split seven podium finishes and 15 top-10 swims, which made for a lot of swimming. All three were within striking distance of qualifying for this week’s upcoming meet, with two possible ways of qualifying: They could reach two championship time standards or win an event at this trials meet. William Miller had two podium finishes, one in the 200m back where he finished second. His teammate Johnny Marshall also finished second in two events. Karsten Senft topped the podium in the boys 16 and over 100m free and will be joining teammates in Edmonton this upcoming weekend. Here are the full results: Boys 14 and 15 Johnathan Marshall (15): Second in 50m free, second in 50m back, fourth in 50m Fly, seventh in 100m Free, seventh in 100m back, 13th in 100m breast and 18th in 50m breast. William Miller (14): Second in 200m back, third in 800m free, fifth in 400m free, eighth in 100m back, 11th in 200m free, 12th in 50m back and 32nd in 100m free. Boys 16 and Over Karsten Senft (17): First in 100m free, second in 50m free, third in 400m free, fourth in 200m free, fifth in 50m back, seventh in 100m back and eighth in 200m back. 11
