Alberta men’s hockey finishes fifth at Winter Games

Team Alberta’s men’s hockey team finished its Canada Games on a high note Friday.

Alberta beat Manitoba 4-1 to finish the tournament in fifth place. Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Hayden Harsanyi scored in the win, with fellow prospect Matt Paranych picking up an assist.

Local product Ryan Miller also had a goal and assist in the victory. Miller finished his tournament with a goal and two assists.

Harsanyi and Paranych each had three points in the tournament, with Harsanyi notching a goal and two assists and Paranych racking up three helpers.

McCann had two goals in his six games.

Tigers goaltending prospect Jordan Switzer appeared in two games.

Tigers director of player personnel Bobby Fox also represented his home province as Team Alberta’s head scout.
