Rattlers get Futsal season underway

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s futsal team kicked off the 2023 campaign with a 4-1 victory over the rival Kodiaks on Tuesday night in Lethbridge.

The win sets up a four-game weekend at the Snake Pit to close out the rapid ACAC season.

Maisa Rebello led the Rattlers into the win column with three goals in the victory, while goalkeeper Molly Morris set up Rowan Prud’homme in the second half to round out the scoring.

Nikki Stahl scored the lone goal for Lethbridge.

The Rattlers kick off this weekend’s homestand on Friday against the Ambrose Lions (0-1) at 1 p.m.

Keyano College will host the ACAC men’s and women’s futsal championship tournaments in Fort McMurray, March 10-12, with the top three teams in each division earning a spot.

The Rattlers men’s futsal team found themselves on the opposite side of a 4-1 game against the Kodiaks on Tuesday in Lethbridge, but they’ll also have a change to rally for a better record with four games at home this weekend.

Arlind Musliu scored Medicine Hat’s only goal in the loss.

Kyeler Paxman-Viani scored a hat-trick for the Kodiaks, supported by a single goal from Daniel Montoya.

The Rattlers will kick off their four-game weekend in Medicine Hat on Friday against the Ambrose Lions (0-1) at 2:15 p.m.
